A poster design by George de Sonneville for the Bordeaux cars, Motobloc. Production continued until 1962 at the factory, which first opened in 1902 in rue des Vivants, within the Bastide neighborhood. Acrylic, water color and blue crayon on paper (44.5 x 34.5 cm), Fi LII 239. (easy puzzle)

The buzz of the port of Bordeaux did not escape the eye of the artist. George reproduces the port activity which seems to be centered on wine. Color rotogravure, (56 x 80 cm), Fi LX B 538 (medium difficulty puzzle).

Here Clément Boulanger (1805 – 1842), one of Ingres’ pupils, revives the festive mood: the munificence of the surroundings, the extravagant costumes and glowing colors.
